~ Shish Kebabs ~* This recipe comes from the book Eat Your Way Around the World by Jamie Aramini. The kebabs are from Egypt and this is the first recipe we've tried. They were AWESOME and super easy! The boys loved them.Couscous is a great side dish to serve with them. Ingredients1 lb. steak, cubed (pick a good quality steak - you want something tender) 1 T. cumin 1 tsp. salt 1 tsp. ground ginger 1/2 tsp. cinnamon 1/2 tsp. ground cloves 2 garlic cloves, minced 2 T. olive oil skewers 1. Combine all ingredients in a plastic container. Cover and marinate for thiry minutes in refrigerator. 2. Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. Thread meat onto skewers. 3. Bake until done to your likeness (medium-rare - medium should only take about 10 minutes). You can grill them if you'd like. Be sure to soak your wooden skewers before cooking.
