Garlic Shrimp (good with rice)
3/4 pound shelled shrimp 2 tbsp oil 1tbsp butter
1 tbsp minced garlic 1 tbsp minced cilantro roots 1tbsp pepper (green is better than black) 3/4 tbsp Soya sauce (found in most Asian stores) 3/4 tbsp Maggie Sauce (found in most Asian stores) 1/2 tsp sugar 2 tbsp chicken stock or water
Devein shrimp. Rinse and drain. Heat 2 tbsp oil and 1 tbsp butter in sauce pan. Stir-fry garlic, cilantro roots, and pepper until fragrant. Add shrimp and stir fry until color changes. Add soya sauce, Maggie sauce and sugar. Stir to mix. Add water/stock and bring to boil. Serve hot.
You can add more or less spices and sauce to taste. You can also add red chili pepper to make spicy.
