~ Smothered Steak ~
* My mom used to make this when I was growing up. It's great served over rice.
Ingredients
1 1/2 pounds round steak, cut into strips 1/3 c. flour 1 tsp. salt 1/4 tsp. pepper 1 large onion, cut into rings 1 green pepper, cut into strips 1 (16 oz.) can undrained tomatoes 1 (4 oz.) can mushrooms 2 tbsp. molasses 3 tbsp. soy sauce 1 10 oz. package frozen french style green beans
Toss the steak, flour, salt and pepper into the crockpot and stir well to coat the steak. Add the remaining ingredients and cover. Cook on high 4 - 5 hours.
* All crockpots are different so adjust the time as needed. My crockpot cooks very quickly. You want your steak to be tender, but not dry.
